Our high-quality timber bee hives are crafted with precision and care to provide optimal living conditions for bee colonies. Our hives are made from durable and sustainably sourced timber, ensuring longevity and environmental responsibility. The design incorporates features that prioritise the well-being of the bees, such as proper ventilation, insulation, and ease of access hive inspections.
The use of high-quality timber not only enhances the structural integrity of the hive but also contributes to its aesthetic appeal. Well-crafted timber bee hives are essential for maintaining the health and productivity of native bee colonies, offering a stable and secure environment for bees to thrive. Additionally, our hives showcase a commitment to responsible beekeeping practices, reflecting the importance of sustainability in apiculture.
Our bee hives are sold with or without bees. Hives must be picked up from our location at Mount Gravatt. All sales include a free tutorial for managing a native bee hive, so no need to worry if you are not experienced. We will also provide ongoing support if needed to ensure your bees have the best start possible in their new habitat.
Native bee wax is a fantastic booster for any native bee colony and can be used any time of year to give your hive some extra building material. Providing native bee wax can be incredibly beneficial and increase the speed of building in eductions, weak hives, new rescues and established colonies.
Native bees use wax to build cells to lay their eggs in and pots to store provisions of pollen and nectar for their offspring. The wax will often be mixed with resin and serves as a structural material for creating their nest. Please note our native bees wax is collected sustainably from excess stores from rescued colonies. Urban Native bees can post native bees wax to you within Australia for a small fee.
